I’ve been having a quick browse through some of the lovely Autumn family sessions of the last couple of months. I wanted to pick one to post some pictures from when I came across this business assignment and was inspired to share some of these instead!
This session was a bit different to the usual projects and I love a bit of a challenge. Though as I’d say my speciality (preferred modus operandi) is taking pictures of people in their ‘natural environment’ – photographing these ‘guys in the garage’ wasn’t such a diversion as it first might appear.
I have known the great guys who are the directors of Fields Car Centre, Richard and Mike Field for a good few years now. I have taken their family portraits and we belong to the same church in Woking. Two years ago Richard asked if I would take some staff photos of the team and asked me back recently to update them. Between us we decided that the business would also benefit from a ‘portrait shoot’ showing the team about their usual business – a sort of ‘behind the scenes’ story. So we took their usual head and shoulders pictures for the website but spent more time (and fun!) taking images that reveal the team’s personality as they go about their tasks in the workshop.
